QR codes for events: tickets, schedules and check-in

Short answer: use one dynamic code for everything that may change (schedule, map, links) and static codes for things that never change (Wi-Fi). Print them big – people scan banners from a distance.

Ideas

  • Schedule: the programme as a PDF on a dynamic code – update it until the doors open.
  • Links page: tickets, map, livestream, sponsors and social media behind one code.
  • Wi-Fi: a static Wi-Fi code at the entrance and on tables.
  • Badges: each speaker’s contact card.
  • Feedback: a code at the exit to your survey.

Check-in and tickets

Ticket QR codes are usually generated by the ticketing system (each one unique). Use GITECHY QR for the codes around the event: where to buy tickets, the schedule, the venue map.

Questions

Can I see how many visitors scanned?
